Breakfast Morning Social Event, Skegby Methodist Church, 15th November 2025.

Our second breakfast social event was packed. At one point there was a queue for the tombola stand that stretched the length of the room, conveniently passing the cake stand which consequently did a roaring trade. The hard-working ladies of our choir supporters’ group work extremely hard at these events and we are most grateful not only for the welcome breakfast but for the opportunity it creates for socialising with each other, former members and extended family members. This fellowship underpins the quality of the choir’s singing and stage presence and we’re finding that our now mostly sold-out concerts attract regular followers in our audiences. It is always a pleasure to see the fruits of the labour going into providing breakfasts, cakes, tombola and raffles prizes and naturally the proceeds contributing to choir funds. This occasion broke all previous financial records and the Supporters’ Group are thanked and congratulated. It is hard work cooking and assembling breakfasts for two hours and we are truly grateful to all the ladies involved. A special mention must go to 2nd Tenor Mario Curtis who spent the whole event up to his elbows in soapsuds ensuring a constant supply of clean plates and cutlery and of course the final clean-up of the kitchen at the end. That is dedication to our cause Mario. We hope you enjoyed the sing as well. The songs performed today were choir favourites : –

Soldier’s Chorus  (H.F. Chorley, Gounod); You Raise Me Up (Brendan Graham and Rolf Lovland, arr. Roger Emerson) and a real crowd pleaser Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (R. Sherman, arr. Stewart Roberts)

Great morning and special thanks to all the workers who helped pull it off. Had to try a full breakfast which was delicious. As usual the raffles and 🎂 stalls were a great attraction. Same time next month lol.
