“An Air of Professionalism”

The following is a copy of a letter we have received from Geoff and Averil (churchwardens at St John’s Church)

“May I take this opportunity to express our thanks to the Mansfield & District Male Voice Choir, the Singers and the Boots Orchestra for performing at St John’s church, in the Aspire concert, in aid of St John’s Spire and Tower appeal.”

“From people in the audience, we have only heard positive comments, of how there was varied content that was performed with an air of professionalism.  Whilst we have enjoyed previous concerts with the M&DMVC and the Singers, the inclusion of the Boots Orchestra added a further enjoyable dimension to the evening.”

“From our church warden aspect, we would like to thank the M&DMVC for originating the idea of this joint concert, and for being the liaison between the performers and the church.  We would also offer our thanks to the M&DMVC for generating the artwork design and content of the programs, posters and tickets.  We are also sure that ticket sales were boosted by the efforts that M&DMVC expended in airing the concert on Radio Mansfield, where it was explained in good detail what the concert was in aid of, and also about the choirs future aims.”

“The monies raised from ticket sales amounted to £2650, and we do feel comforted that these sales were made by efforts of all parties involved.”

“This concert involved many more performers than St John’s have ever accommodated before, which proved to be somewhat of a learning curve for us.  To assist with the choir assemblies, we are very grateful that the M&DMVC supplied the staging.”

Very best regards
