Remembrance Service at The International Bomber Command Centre with the Band of the R.A.F. College Cranwell

On Thursday 25th July, the International Bomber Command Centre, Lincoln will be hosting the fourth International Bomber command Day. This day pays a fitting tribute to the extraordinary achievements of so many young men and women over the 32 years it was in operation around the world. This year we will also be marking the centenary of the Royal Canadian Airforce and their huge contribution to Bomber Command in WW2. We invite family, friends and supporters to join us at our Service of Remembrance which start at 14.00.
Wea re delighted to be joined by the Mansfield and District Male Voice Choir who will be providing accompaniment to the service along with the Band of the RAF College Cranwell.

What an honour!. We have been invited to participate in the annual Remembrance Service at The International Bomber Command Centre in the heart of Lincolnshire together with the Band of the the Royal Airforce College Cranwell.
The International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC) has been created to provide a world-class facility to serve as a point for recognition, remembrance and reconciliation for Bomber Command.
Lincoln has been chosen for the site as it provides a central point for all 27 bases that earned Lincolnshire the title of ‘Bomber County’.
Lincoln’s Cathedral provided a landmark for crews both leaving and returning from missions and, for those who failed to return, the Cathedral was often their last image of home. The county housed over a third of all the WW2 Bomber Command Stations, making it the ideal home for this commemoration of the bravery of the men of Bomber Command.
The IBCC provides one of the most comprehensive records of Bomber Command in the world and will ensure that generations to come can learn of their vital role in protecting the freedom we enjoy today.
