80th Anniversary Concert

Our choir was inaugurated in 1944 and we look forward celebrating 80 years of music making. An 80th anniversary is symbolised by oak; strength, longevity and rooted in long-lasting love. Like an oak tree that is strong of trunk, with branches resembling the growing family and acorns continuing new growth our choir can draw on 80 years of shared memory.

To mark such a special anniversary we have invited four of our fellow male voice choirs (Bestwood MVC, Carlton MVC, Eastwood Collieries MVC and St. Edmundsbury MVC) together with exciting Ravenshead Swing Band to join us in Southwell Minster. This is the pinnacle of venues in Nottinghamshire lying at the heart of what was the extensive Sherwood Forest with its venerable oaks.
These choirs represent our oaks in their longevity and growth and no doubt we shall have a wonderful concert together.
