Let All Men Sing

Since singing is so good a thing, I wish all men would learn to sing – William Byrd ( 1540- 1623)

“Let All Men Sing” – Joint Concert with The Dalesman MVC and St Edmundsbury MVC- Derby Cathedral – Saturday 14th October 2017

Musical Director for The Dalesman was Paul Marshall and their Accompanist was Hilary Griffiths. Guest soloist  and separate  solo performer was Wil Pearson

Musical Director for St Edmundsbury MVC was Mark Jefferson and their Accompanist was Calvin Goymer.

Geoff Mansfield is Events Manager for Mansfield MVC:

The Concert portrayed all that it best about male voice choirs.

We had three very different but entertainingly varied repertoire from each choir, a range of male voice standards and contrasting leadership styles from all our Musical Directors which made everyone give of their best.

This was underpinned by efficient organisation and promotion, topped off with outstanding singing and friendly camaraderie. It doesn’t get much better does it?

We at Mansfield and District Male Voice Choir extend our congratulations and thanks for the friendship of both The Dalesmen and St Edmundsbury MVC.

The venue was lovely, the  young guest soloist amazing and the afterglow was a triumph. We would also like  to express our gratitude for the fantastic work done by the Dalesmen ladies.

We are glad to be involved with you all!”

And old William Byrd, holding his candle to us down the centuries, he was glad ( no doubt) to be involved too…
