Regime change.

Paul Bennett

At our 2026 AGM we thanked Chairman Geoff Hursthouse (Baritone) for three years of guidance and residency in the role. The committee of the choir was largely unchanged ensuring a solid foundation for choir activities but welcomed two new members to the group, Alun Roberts (Baritone) as Choir Marshall (many thanks to Phil Millns (Bass) for conducting this role over the last year) and Trevor Dyson (2nd Tenor) as a chorister member. Paul Bennett (2nd Tenor) was elected as our new Chairman following a year on the committee in support.
Paul’s enthusiasm for the choir, its standards and standing in the local area are a great source of pride to Paul and we look forward to his leadership over the next few years. Paul has been a choir member during two periods of time – from 2012 to 2019 and then again from 2024. His return has been marked with keenness and commitment and, of course, his wonderful skills as a compere.
Paul has spent most of his working career in sales and has a background in the military. We welcome him to his new role and congratulate him on the support derived from his fellow choristers.

Congratulations and thanks to those stepping up and big thanks to those who have stepped down. Both old and new have their interests deeply set in our Choir. We can only keep on marching forwards with thanks to each and every member who put in such hard work to keep the high standards that this Choir has become renowned for.

I would like to add my thanks for all the committee members who are standing down this year and appreciation for our new members. A good choir sounds best when all choristers sing their correct part, but without a competent committee even the best choirs fail.
